2010 Sustainable Ag Conference – You are invited to attend!

Mark your calendar for the Kansas Rural Center’s 2010 Sustainable Agriculture Conference!  This year’s conference  will be held Saturday November 20 in Emporia, Kansas at the Flint Hills Technical College.

“Connecting Cows, Carbon, and Carrots: Making Sense of Our Food Future”, a one-day conference of speakers and workshops, will provide you an opportunity to learn important and timely information on all the issues impacting  our farms, our food, and our communities.

The keynote speaker will be Joel Brown, USDA NRCS, a rangeland ecologist with years of experience working on climate related to agriculture. Twenty sessions covering cows and crops (farming practices), carbon (climate, carbon, and farming practices), carrots (local food and marketing), and connections (politics of food) will be offered. These will feature local or state experts, farmers and ranchers with experiences to share, and officials.

If you are interested in learning more about climate change and its challenges for agriculture, the budding food movement of local and regional production and business opportunities, how to pass the farm onto the next generation, and much more, register now!!
